CMS specializes in providing operations, engineering, contracting, project and risk management consulting and support services in the areas of operations planning, design, regulatory approval, risk assessment, maintenance management, reliability engineering, and life cycle cost analysis for LNG/LPG Gas Carriers, Oil Tankers and LNG, LPG, and Oil bulk marine terminals. CMS specializes in LNG and LPG Gas Carrier management and operations and bulk marine terminal design, permitting, and operations. The company also has expertise in offshore marine systems including FPSO’s, DP Shuttle Tankers, offshore support vessels and risk management systems for the marine delivery of critical project cargo.

The principle of CMS, Peter Schaedel, has more than 40 years of executive leadership experience in the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Shipping and Marine Terminal industries. Peter’s notable achievements in his career include the following:

• Designated as the global Group Technical Authority for shipping, marine terminals, and offshore marine related activities for an energy major
• Facilitated the implementation of a successful personal and process safety program at a major Korean shipyard that took the yard from worst performance to best safety performance of all yards in the country within three years
• Successfully took a large LNG production terminal project through the United States Coast Guard’s regulatory waterway suitability assessment process for LNG vessel transits with the project receiving a positive letter of recommendation from the United States Coast Guard
• Supervised the successful specification development, shipyard selection, contracting, engineering, construction supervision, and transition into operations of 11 large LNG Carriers from Asian shipyards
• Developed and successfully implemented a safety management system at a major LNG vessel owner/technical manager and certified the system to ISO 9000 and the ISM Code
• 13 years sailing experience onboard large LNG carriers in every engineering position including several years as a Chief Engineer
